High cocoa solids content dark chocolate tends to contain high levels of natural antioxidants called polyphenols.
Well Naturally No Sugar Added Dark Chocolate is made with 70% cocoa solids. That makes it high in polyphenols (powerful, natural antioxidants found in cocoa beans), which can work to absorb free radicals.
Dark chocolate contains around 40% natural fat contained in cocoa beans used to make the chocolate.
Natural cocoa fat (not to be confused with bad fats) in chocolate is made up of three fatty acids, oleic (the same as that found in olive oil), stearic and palmitic acid in equal proportions. Unlike most saturated fatty acids, these fatty acids when combined, have no impact on the production of cholesterol and are considered to be “cholesterol neutral”.
Contrary to popular perception, the regular consumption of dark chocolate has no impact on the consumer’s cholesterol level.
